90's Country

Updated: Dec 19, 2023

September 2023

Ok, I'll confess on a Friday morning, I'm a true "90's (and late 80's)" country music fan. You know the era of Reba McEntire, Dolly, Trisha Yearwood, Shania, Alabama, Garth Brooks, George Strait, etc., etc.

I can sing along with almost every country song from that era, but couldn't tell you one line or song playing on current country radio. Why is that? (No, it's not because I'm older now.. LOL!)

90's country is relatable, memorable and singable. It connected with you, where you were at, in your life at the moment. It made you feel good.

Today, when I hear a 90's country song like, "Is There Life Out There, Boot Scootin Boogie, Friends in Low Places, She's in Love with The Boy, Fancy, etc.", I immediately connect and relate. It makes me feel good, like I'm a part of something bigger, because I know the songs.

As leaders, are you bringing your people along with you in your mission and objectives, can they relate to the song (mission/objectives) you sing, can they sing it with you?

Is your mission and objectives easy to remember and memorable? If you are not bringing your people along, maybe you need to change your song, or...

Maybe we could all use a "Fancy" (Reba) moment.

Happy Friday! #bestlife50
